In this video, we meet Melvin Lee who, as a teenager, frequently got drawn into gang fights. Yet Lee’s life changed when the police recruited him into the Macpherson Boys’ Club, set up in early 1980s Singapore to help at-risk youth.
Today, 30 years on, thanks to competitive cycling, Lee is inspiring youngsters the same way he was by his law officer mentors. Lee’s mission? “Win or lose, doesn’t matter. What I want the boys to learn is knowing how to care, love and respect,” he says.
