In this Living Big in a Tiny House video, we head to a lush forest canopy of Kauri, Nikau, Manuka trees to tour the Away Treehouse Airbnb, located on Waiheke Island, NZ.
Waiheke Island is the most populated and the second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand..
Situated 14m above the ground, the octagonal dwelling, with its wraparound deck and untreated timber ceiling, takes full advantage of the unique forest vista. As for its construction, host Sue explains that helicopters were a vital part of the 10-year building process, laying the foundational poles down first, followed by the decking.
The inside-outside design offers beautiful views and a serene integration with the natural surroundings.
