Asked how someone may overcome repeating compulsive emotional patterns, yogi and mystic Sadhguru, explains that how far we are impacted by naturally-occurring disruption depends on how focused and settled we are in our own lives to begin with.
“Our fortune is we are not just physical, we have other dimensions to us,” notes the Isha Foundation head..
Therefore, in terms of our mental and emotional states, either they can continue to grow, or they can go round and round in circles.
“Everything in this system is cyclical, isn’t it?” he challenges. “The earth is going in cycles, the moon is going in cycles; everything is cyclical.” And so, a natural pattern of destabilisation is always in play.
Depending upon how unconsciously we live our lives, and how unsettled or unfocused we may be, we become less or more vulnerable to the turbulence of such cycles, continues Sadhguru.
“If you are completely scattered, you become available to the smallest cycle. If you are a little focused, you become available to longer cycles… but everybody is subject to these cycles,” he says.
“These cycles can mean a bondage, or these cycles can also mean transcendence; that from one cycle of life to another you transcend, or you repeat the same cycle. That depends on who you are.”
