Hey kids, when you think about recycling you may think about plastic bottles, paper, and aluminum cans…. but there’s a different type of waste that should be recycled. What is it? Well, it’s called e-waste and as we learn here, in this Teen Kids News video, it’s a growing issue.
E-waste, or electronic waste, encompasses electrical and electronic equipment that’s outdated, unwanted, or broken. That means everything from smartphones to end-of-life refrigerators.
Globally, most of this waste ends up in landfills, incinerated, or illegally traded. And when electronics are mishandled during disposal, these chemicals end up in our soil, water and air.
